Advertising and Blogging

Billboard
One of the biggest mistake I have made when blogging is advertising. When I first started blogging, I had every sort of advertising program possible. Then one day it hit me, advertising is worthless if you don’t have frequent content. After considering my blogging situation, I decided to cut back. Now I’m only using Google Adsense and I’m making more than what I used to.

My advice to any blogger is to always have more content than advertising. 3/4 content and 1/4 advertising is the maximum amount of advertising you should ever have. Another tip is to make have advertising that doesn’t get in the way of your content. You won’t make as much, but your readers will be happier and more likely to come back. Google Adsense is a perfect ad program to put in a blog.

If your advertising hopes have faltered consider going ad free. You might be paying for monthly hosting, but if you love to blog that shouldn’t matter.

The red navigation bar makes for, well, easy navigation and the sidebar refines article searching. The font size on Mixx is very random, which takes away from the content on the site. Bump up the size of the headlines or you’ll never attract new users.
