I found it hilarious the people posting here are.
Learn to take a joke, dumbasses.

People like this are the reason why everyone thinks Mac users are generally less intelligent; way to ruin it for the rest of us. ~_~

i don't think that many people have the problems you associate with the mac, however there are plenty other reasons for not getting one. if you think that apple has managed to get rid of the most shameful problems people link to windows, you're very WRONG. if you think that you will not have to unplug your notebook and remove the battery to get it working again either because 1. it's frozen or 2. the login dialogue does not come up or 3. some automatic update has screwed up something or 4. cannot turn on the bluetooth you're wrong again. it's amazing how many people are fooled to believe that they can leave those annoying windows kind of issues behind if they switch. it's shameful that many of those will disturb you in the mac environment as well.

Oh. Great. Nobody should buy a Mac because you start to do other things than what you intended. How logical! /end sarcasam

Seriously though, if you didn't do random other things on your mac when trying to do work, I promise that you would be doing your work as fast if not faster than you could on a PC.

Oh, and a reason TO buy a mac: No need to upgrade (often). My 9 year old Blueberry G3 iMac is running faster and better than a 2 year old Windows machine. And also, my 2007 Aluminum Intel iMac runs XP FASTER than many computers i've seen labeled "Designed for Windows XP, Vista Compatible." Think about that for a second.

ok Loren, you are really putting me in a difficult position here. If my wife sees this post, there will be a MAC under our holiday tree this year. We both want a MAC in the house, but she is really after one. Let's see if she tracks us down.

@Nicki
Yes, I suppose it is true on a mac or a pc, but on a mac it's much easier (to get off track). Windows can maximize to full screen and cover up many of the apps, while on a mac a full screen maximize neither looks good or is easy to do, so other windows are showing.

Thanks for you input Nicki.

Hmm Okay I am sorry to say this but you ONE reason to not buy a mac is stupid. I am a happy and productive mac user, I get my work done on time or at leas at the same amount of time as I would have on a PC.

Now I don't wanna go into why I have switched from PC to mac. But I will remind you that all of the "problems" that you have identified on the Mac can be and are being accessed by PC all day long. SO what is the ONE reason not to get a Mac that is unique for the mac ?
