One more thing…

New iPods

Apple refreshed the whole iPod line recently and they introduced the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch is exactly what everyone has been asking for, an iPhone without the phone. The 8 millimeter device won’t be shipping until October, but I have a feeling Steve has a few more tricks up his isleeve sleeve.

Gizmodo reported that the new iPod Touch might include Bluetooth after they found a picture of it on a foreign Apple site. With Bluetooth, the iPod Touch could:

  •  Share music with other iPod Touch and iPhone users
  • Have wireless earphones
  • Connect to any Bluetooth-enabled computer wirelessly (audio/video transfer)

Bluetooth would be a revolutionary feature on an iPod, but I don’t beleive it’s the only one.

The iTunes Store started selling (iPod) games when the 5.5 generation video iPod came out, but the newest iPod Touch surprisingly does not have the ability to play games. Don’t fear, a “Games” button won’t be far behind. Apple, most likely is in the process of creating new touch orientated games for the iPod Touch and iPhone. Playing the games using the old click-wheel was annoying, but the possibilities are endless with multi-touch. Apple is already competing in various markets, why not in casual games?

iPod Touch

The new iPod Touch will set the standard for music media players like the iPhone did with smart-phones. Apple wants to extend the iPod hype as long as possible and they’ll do this, in my opinion, by introducing new features over the next few weeks. If they don’t, they’ll need something to fill that empty main screen.

What new features do you want to see in the upcoming iPod Touch?

Honestly? Just more storage. 30 GB, at least. 16 is kinda pushing my current library, and the Touch is really going to shine for video, so more space will be a must.

Otherwise, it’s basically the perfect iPod.

Well the no bluetooth already got confirmed. Bad Apple. It may have been in the works early on. As long as the iPod touch does the exact same thing as the iPhone, I will be happy. Though I wish it came with more space.
