5 Websites I want to use, but Don’t!

1. Facebook: Considered to be the “new” MySpace and is thought to be worth more than the social networking giant. Facebook is what many say MySpace should be (but will never be), well written (in terms of code) and design. The reason I don’t use Facebook, is the same reason I don’t use MySpace, what’s the purpose? I try really hard to like it, but after a couple of months of using it I find it boring and completely useless. Yes, I am one of the few who think of social networking that way.

2. Del.icio.us: The Yahoo! owned web bookmarking giant maybe the biggest thing since sliced bread, but (like sliced bread,) I have trouble trying to understand it. Yes, I know it’s for bookmarking, but is that it? Am I thinking too much of Del.icio.us or am I missing something? If anyone would like to explain it to me in the comments, I would be glad to read it.
3. Virb: Known as the music MySpace and is growing to become another Facebook or MySpace. Like I said before, I don’t understand the reason of social networking, but I like music. Even after seeing the beautiful site and the music orientated profiles I am split, wondering what makes this any different than MySpace. I think I will stick with PureVolume, Virb minus the social network.

4. Flickr: Another Yahoo! owned company that allows people to share their photo’s and is one of the first web 2.0 companies I can remember. Now your probably thinking, I don’t use Flickr because I don’t like taking pictures, but I love taking pictures. The reason I don’t use Flickr is simple, I’m lazy. I have taken a ton of (mostly black & white) pictures with my digital camera, but they’re all just sitting on my Macbook. I don’t know if it’s because after uploading pictures there is nothing to do or is it my short attention span.
5. Last.fm: Recently purchased by CBS for a cool $280 mil, this music site is really unique in the way it works. Instead of picking songs from a list, a little application keeps track of what you listen to and then uploads it to your profile. I use Last.fm everyday just because the application is always open on my computer, but I never go and check my the site (www.last.fm), itself. There isn’t really a use for the application then is there? Maybe someday I will check out the site and see how many times I really have listened to The Postal Service CD.

1. Google (privacy, yo)
2. Linkedin
Actually, I don’t want to use LinkedIn, but I’m tired of telling hundreds of friends that I’m not joining.

I love displaying my photo’s on Flickr.. and Delicious I use as a bookmark site and true, I don’t get that it’s anything more than that.
I joined Facebook – but not sure about it for the following reason: http://www.ladybanana.co.uk/2007/06/not-sure-about-facebook.html
They are all a bit of a waste of time but then I guess it depends what you’re after…
