Music has stretched far beyond the physical format and into the digital format. With sites like Myspace promoting the smallest artist and iTunes promoting the biggest artists, anyone can be heard. What if you don’t want to use horribly designed Myspace to find your indie/alternative (not found on iTunes) hits?

Purevolume is like Mypace Music without the Myspace (flashing banner, huge user base, etc)and is a perfect place to feed you new music addiction. Purevolume is well designed and offers the same services as Myspace (just presented much better).

Like both Purevolume and Myspace you can check out the top unsigned and signed bands at the current moment. Personally, I look through the unsigned bands to find something new (because the signed bands are usually on iTunes) and they usually offer free downloads.

Now, if your looking for something more mainstream, Purevolume isn’t the best choice. Purevolume mostly offers Alternative and Rock genres, but Myspace Music offers almost all genres. Purevolume is a very narrow appealing site, but if your a alternative/rock loving, myspace hating, internet listener then you’ll love it.
