The Coal Bear of Reason: AT&T

Stephen Colbert does a great job at explaining the unexplainable.

Politicians Who Understand…Sure

As I have come to the age where I have become more interested in the government and politics, I have noticed one thing that really frustrates me. That one thing is age and generations. I would say most of the people who try to make the United States “a better place” are over fifty and when it comes to culture and/or technology they are really pretty much useless. The reason? (They are old white cattle ranching men with six kids and a good family name.) Well, I think it is because they never grew up with computers and internet like most of us have. They speak of the internet as if it’s “a series of tubes” when it really has nothing to do with tubes at all. They think they know what’s right, when the younger generations really does.

I can’t wait till we see the day when we see younger politicians with more knowledge of technology and culture. If there was someone that was on the bleeding edge of technology I think this would benefit the US. If the US government knew what to do when it came to technology we would have problems like Net Neutrality. I don’t believe politicians really understand what Net Neutrality is so they’re just happy to see big business (so they can make more money) even when it begins to morph into the monopoly monster.

P.S. I am streaming 10 movies over the internet right now.

My New Favorite Background

I found this background grouped with some Adium extras and I isntantly fell in love. It has kind of that Windows default screen, but with more color and design.

Looking for a great non-spam background website? Try DeviantArt or Interfacelift (they also great for icons)

The Wonderful World of Wi-Fi

These days everyone has a computer with the internet, but now many have Wi-Fi. Wifi is wonderful, for those who know how to use it. Unfortunatley, most most don’t understand how to use their wireless fidelity and their internet is given to their wonderful pirate neighbors. What is even more hilarious is the pirates that do steal others internet don’t even know they’re doing it. In my local area no one has any encryption on their wifi so its yours for the taking. Personally, I don’t use my neighbors because I have my own, secure, connection.

So as technology (including wifi) becomes even more mainstream, will the world be covered in free wireless internet from those that don’t understand. I sure hope so, I just want wifi when I am at my local park and how else will I get it.

Beautiful Waterfalls

Do you love waterfalls, well then you’ll really love this one. I say it is one of the greatest in the world. Sadly it’s really only a one time thing, but they did catch it on video:

Absolutely B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L, isn’t it?
Thank god for YouTube

YouWhat?

I stumbled across this site the other day and I though it was pretty interesting (and funny). Youboob.com (not YouTube) is supposedly for sale on ebay for 1.5 million. I don’t see thise being bought anytime so, but hey sometimes you gotta make some money. Maybe Google will buy it for a couple billion, they have money to spend.

PARTY!!!…Games

For those who play video games know that nothing is as fun as when you are playing with your friends. Here is a list of some of the greatest party games (to stay up late and play till you drop):

-Guitar Hero (PS2, XBOX 360): If a tear comes to your eye when you see all of those DDR nerds and there crazy dances then Guitar Hero is for you. I personally have very little coordination when trying to match arrows with a mat on the floor. Guitar Hero in a sense is DDR, but instead of that cheap plastic mat you have a cheap plastic guitar. You match the color with the beats of the song and it can get difficult when multiple colors pop up at the same time. I, myself, seem to get hit with artritis or some form of mental retardation half way through the song and end up being boo’d off the stage. Great game to play with friends, but the songlist could be much better.

-Smash Brothers (N64, GC, Wii): A Nintendo hit ever since it was first released on the N64. Super Smash Bros. is a great fighting party game for any late night with your friends. Put the lives up to max and play until you can play no longer. Hours of fun for anyone with a night to waste. Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii comes out later this year and adds a few characters (Solid Snake, Wario) and gets rid of some we hated (Ice Climbers).

-WarioWare: WarioWare is not a game, its a crapload of little mini-games that are mashed together to make one crazy game. The Japanese make some crazy games and this is definitley one of them. I find great joy in pulling the nose hair of some a badly drawn lady or emptying a toilet paper roll, but I even find it more fun when playing with friends. Some may think the story mode is much to short (which it is), but you don’t buy this game for the story (even though is midly entertaining), you buy it for the complete randomness and the crazy fun mulitplayer.

This isn’t obviously every game, but they are some of my all time favorites and best of all they all are part of a series. If you are looking for something to do on that lonely Friday night call your friends and party game it all night long.
***WARNING: PARTY GAMES SUCH AS THESE MAY CAUSE EXCESSIVE LAUGHING WHEN FATIGUED***
